A native to Chicago, I returned to Chicago after 10 years in Las Vegas, Nevada to begin my career with RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals. I’ve had a love for real estate that began as a child. I come from a long line of investors. My husband and I started out rehabbing distressed properties and selling them. Once financially secure, I decided to venture into income producing assets which I’m still involved with today.
My husband and I retired to Las Vegas in 2003 and decided after just 6 short months, retirement wasn’t for me. I started my professional real estate career as a part time accounts receivable clerk. Over the years, I worked my way up to Office Manager and then Associate Director for Commerce TNP, a commercial property management company managing over 5 million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties.
In 2008 when the market collapsed, my superior requested I join a specialized team as an Associate Director headed by a Court-Appointed Receiver on foreclosed and distressed commercial properties. Working behind the scenes, my clients became lenders, special servicers, counsel and the Courts. In 5 years, Commerce TNP stabilized 60+ properties in more than 18 jurisdictions in Nevada, California, Arizona, Idaho, Nebraska and Illinois. I and the rest of the team, over the years, had operated as managing agents and provided financial accountability for over 60 million square feet of commercial real estate.
Before venturing out west, I spent 12 years working at Exelon, the largest private electric company in the country with more than 5 million customers at the time. Through the 1990s, I worked in the union at various positions and eventually accepted a management position in Human Resources. In 2002, I opted to leave Exelon to focus on volunteer work. I’ve always had a love for animals and spent years volunteering at local animal shelters. In 2002, I became licensed to work with wildlife with a focus on raccoons and squirrels. I maintained that license through 2009, even though by then, I had been living out of state for years as I would travel to assist with animals.
Today, I am pleased to be a part of the RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals team. Joining them in April 2014, I made my focus residential real estate. I enjoy the personal aspect of a deal along with working closely with sellers and buyers alike. Whether a seasoned investor or a first time homebuyer, I have the knowledge and contacts it takes to see a deal from beginning to end and I’m there every step of the way. To further assist my clients, in April 2015, I received the designation of Certified Staging Consultant so I can help prepare the homes of my seller clients. In January 2016, I proudly joined the Dawn Dause Group and anticipate much success being part of that team.
I have been happily married to my husband, Bob, for 20+ years and live in Channahon. Together, we have 4 children and 8 grandchildren that live all over the country along with 8 furry kids.
